Au Revoir, Merci

Jun 27, 2022

This term we wave Bon Courage! to Mr Murchie as he takes his retirement from the Dragon. Ian started his teaching at the Dragon 40 years ago, in 1981. We wish him all the very best as he moves on to his next adventure.

My father was a wise man. One day, many years ago, when I was thinking of applying for a job at another school, he quietly said, “If I was you, I’d stay at the Dragon.” I am so glad I listened, for I have had such fun here – and gained so much from working at the Dragon. I’d like to thank the Heads who have given me so many amazing opportunities over the years and also, my colleagues; I couldn’t have wished to work with a more talented, committed and humorous bunch. And of course, the children; I will always remember their enthusiasm in the classroom, their courage on the games field and their love of performing! Yes, I’ve had a ball! Thanks, one ‘n’ all – and thanks, Dad!

Au revoir, merci.
