End of an Unusual Term

The grand finale for the A Block/Year 8 leavers was their Saturday Sports Day when the Dragons’ camaraderie and inter-form competitive spirit were on display.

The Leavers’ assembly started with a wonderful saxophone quintet performance which was enjoyed by the children in the open air outside the Lynam Hall and by their classmates and families around the world via live streaming. Dr Hyde-Dunn congratulated the A Blockers on their excellent academic performance and co-curricular achievements, wished them all the very best in their senior schools and looked forward to welcoming them back to the School as Old Dragons. The leavers each collected their tie or pennant announced by Head of Upper School, Ma Probert, who was very happy that so many had been able to return for these last few days together. Deputy Head, Mr Phelps who is an Old Dragon himself, assured the children that, although they were leaving the Dragon, the Dragon would never leave them. We wish our 2020 leavers all the very best for the future!

All pupils had celebration assemblies or Form Time, whether in School or virtually from home, to mark the end of this unique Summer Term and we look forward to welcoming the Dragons back after the holidays.
