





Frances Houghton MBE (OD, 1993) – British Rowing
Frances began rowing at the Dragon School aged 11 and competed in five Olympic Games, winning four World titles and three Olympic silver medals. She retired after Rio 2016 and now works for UK Sport as a Performance Advisor, supporting Olympic and Paralympic sports programmes. Frances also mentors women’s Olympic rowers and, in 2020, published Learnings From Five Olympic Games, sharing insights from her career. A true Dragon, her father, Lofty, was an OD and long-serving teacher. Frances now lives in North Cornwall with her partner, Steve, and two Rough Collies.
Olivia Lakhina neé Righton (OD, 2005) – Doctoral Researcher in Women’s Health & Nutrition, Reformer Pilates Instructor.
Olivia Lakhina (née Righton) is a Doctoral Researcher in Nutritional Sciences at King’s College London, specialising in preconception and pregnancy health. With a BSc in Psychology and MSc degrees in Human Nutrition and Women and Children’s Health, her work focuses on improving health outcomes for women and children through science and nutrition. Alongside her research, Olivia has taught Reformer Pilates in London for over six years, promoting strength and well-being through movement. Her dedication to health combines scientific expertise with a passion for empowering women through fitness.
Tom George (OD, 2008) – British Rowing, avid Rugby player
Tom began rowing at Radley College alongside current pair partner Ollie Wynne-Griffith. He later rowed at Princeton and Cambridge, earning bronze with the GB men’s eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Since then, Tom and Ollie have excelled as the GB men’s pair, winning silver at Paris 2024. In 2020, Tom became the first British rower to break 5:40 for 2km, holding the British record at 5:39.3. Born in South Shields, Tom is a lifelong Newcastle United fan and a former rugby player, having switched to rowing for fitness.
Basil Tuma (OD, 2018) – Footballer
Basil is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for EFL League One club Reading and represents the Malta national team. He debuted for Reading in a 2–1 EFL Cup loss to Stevenage on 9 August 2022, playing 55 minutes. Previously, he represented Uganda at the 2020 CECAFA U-17 Championship, winning the final against Tanzania, before joining Malta’s U19 squad in September 2022. Basil debuted for Malta U21 in September 2023 and earned his senior debut on 13 October 2024, winning a decisive penalty against Moldova.
Mark McQuillan – Journalist
Mark is a journalist, presenter and media consultant with more than 15 years of experience working for some of the UK’s leading broadcasters, including Sky, ITV News and 5 News. As a freelance presenter for Sky Sports News, Mark has covered major stories, interviewed elite sports stars and handled the pressures of anchoring breaking news on live television. When presenting live on Sky Sports News, often for three hours non-stop on your own, Mark knows that preparation – like in so many different work situations – is vital!
Jonathan Turner – Director of Sport
Jonathan’s love for sport began as a boy on prep school fields like those at Bardwell Road. At St. George’s, Weybridge, his passion for physical activity grew, leading him to Loughborough University, where he competed at an elite level. He played National League Hockey for 15 years and Surrey Championship cricket. Now in the twilight of his career, he occasionally enjoys Vets Hockey or Old Boys Cricket. A dedicated fan, he holds a Harlequins Rugby season ticket and remains a loyal, long-suffering Arsenal supporter. Sport has always been central to his life.
