Dragon pupils, colleagues and families came together to raise more than £15,000 for charity during the last academic year, supporting organisations making a difference to children and families locally and nationally.
__________
More than £12,000 of the total raised went directly to our three School Charities of the Year: Horatio’s Garden, Dreams Come True, and Flexicare, alongside further funds raised for other charitable causes throughout the year. This total is in addition to the money raised through the Dragon Sale.
From year-group fundraisers to activities and events across the School, pupils, colleagues and families gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to support the charities and the vital work they do.
Katie Tait, CEO of Horatio’s Garden, said:
“Wow Dragon School, you are amazing! We have loved seeing your enthusiasm and interest in what we do at Horatio’s Garden and feel very proud of being your partner charity. Your brilliant fundraising will go to ensuring that people with spinal injuries going through the hardest of times will have a beautiful, inspiring garden as part of their rehabilitation.”
Lisa King OBE, Chief Executive of Dreams Come True, said:
“What a wonderful year-long partnership we have had with the mighty Dragons. We have been bowled over by the commitment of the teachers and pupils to make dreams come true for children who have great needs across our country today. The ingenuity of the fundraising and the initiatives that have happened this year have been wonderful to see and have helped to bring magic and happiness to many. We cannot thank you all enough. Thank you to you all.”
Joe at Flexicare:
“On behalf of Flexicare, we would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all the parents, children, and staff at Dragon School for partnering with us and raising an incredible amount of money last academic year. The money raised will go a long way to supporting children and families across Oxfordshire.”
On behalf of the Social Impact Committee, our governors, and all the charities supported over the past year, we would like to say a huge thank you to every young Dragon, colleague, and family who got involved. We know how much time and effort goes into organising and supporting these activities, and every contribution helps make a meaningful difference.
As we begin a new academic year, we look forward to pupils voting for our 2026/27 Charities of the Year, with the new charities set to be announced in the coming weeks.
We can’t wait to see where our Dragons make a difference next.
