Tim Knapp
BA (Hons) PGCE
Director of Dragon QUEST , Houseparent Cherwell
Having studied Physical Education at Leeds Carnegie University, I opted for a career in teaching and completed a PGCE at St. Luke’s, Exeter, before moving to Oxford and my first teaching job as a Year 3 class teacher and games specialist at Chandlings Manor. It was here that I became aware of the Dragon and its enviable reputation. Wanting to be part of this, I started at the Dragon in 2007 as an E Block teacher and after a spell as Head of Year 4, I progressed to the position of Director of Sport, which enabled me to work with my absolute passion in life on a daily basis.
Growing up in Taunton, a favourite pastime of mine was to frequent the County Ground to watch Somerset play cricket and I played rugby for Taunton RFC from minis right up to the 1st XV. My love of sport started here.
Outside of School, I enjoy exploring the countryside with my young family and when time allows, watch sport and read a historical text or good autobiography.
