Drama and performance in all its guises play a large part in life at the Pre-Prep with the aim being to build confidence, develop skills and encourage teamwork. At some point during the year, each year-group stages its own musical production in which every child will have the opportunity to speak and sing and have their moment to shine. The Reception children launch the year when they stage the Nativity Play towards the end of their first term as a Dragon; children in Years 1 and 2 perform in the Easter Term and Year 3 draw the year to a close with their final performance as members of the Pre-Prep showing everyone just how much progress they have made. Years 1, 2 and 3 have Christmas productions for parents to showcase both musical and drama skills.
Other opportunities to perform arise in Class Assemblies, themed days and role play throughout the curriculum. Children in Year 3 have additional opportunities to perform in the Daisy Pratt Poetry competition and the Balloon debate.
