Drama and performance at the Pre-Prep builds confidence, develops skills and encourages teamwork. In all its guises, Drama plays a large part of life at the Dragon.
Once a year, each year-group stages its own musical production in which every child will have the opportunity to speak, sing and have their moment to shine. The Reception children launch the year when they stage the Nativity Play towards the end of their first term as Dragons; children in Years 1 and 2 perform in the Easter Term and Year 3 draw the year to a close with their final performance as members of the Pre-Prep, showing everyone just how much they have progressed. Years 1, 2 and 3 put on Christmas productions for parents, showcasing both their musical and drama skills.
Other opportunities to perform arise in Class Assemblies, themed days and role play throughout the curriculum. Children in Year 3 have additional opportunities to perform in the Daisy Pratt Poetry competition and the Balloon debate.
