Design and Technology lessons across all age ranges at Dragon Pre-Prep focus on the skills of designing and making.
Designing skills are developed through communicating, generating and developing ideas, drawing plans, investigating and evaluating. Making skills are developed through planning, using a variety of tools, measuring and marking out, cutting and shaping, joining and combining. Children advance these skills through focused practical tasks.
Design and Technology projects are linked to termly topic themes; the subject draws on the children’s knowledge from other subjects and enhances their work. On occasions parents can help with special projects and DT ‘wow’ mornings.
