  • What makes a young business successful?
  • How do you win your first clients and generate cash flow?
  • How do you manage success and expansion?
  • How do you ensure strategic focus?

Our speakers will close by giving their 'Three Tips for Success' and open up the floor to a lively discussion. The Drinks Reception that follows gives further opportunity to share ideas and to network. 

Arduus ad Solem: Entrepreneurs is kindly hosted by Ted Mott (OD 1956) and his son David Mott (OD 1986), joint founding partners of private equity firm Oxford Capital, who have supported many entrepreneurs across the UK by providing capital, expertise and support to turn outstanding innovation into highly-successful businesses. Our Guest Speakers

Roger Mavity Best Selling Author and Entrepreneur Roger Mavity (OD 1956)
Roger founded advertising firm, Mavity Gilmore, in 1981 and spent a successful career in communications before becoming a best-selling author with ‘Life’s a Pitch’. His latest book, ‘The Rule-Breakers Book of Business’, came out in 2013.
Mark Esiri Business Angel, Mark Esiri (OD 1978)
Mark is Founder and Chairman of Venrex Investment Management which includes Just-Eat, Notonthehighstreet, Orlebar Brown, Astley Clarke and Seedcamp in its portfolio.
Lucius Cary Business Angel, Lucius Cary OBE (OD 1960)
Lucius is Founder and MD of Oxford Technology Management (OTM) and an expert in providing seed capital for science and technology start ups. He formed Seed Capital Ltd and established nine investment funds over 25 years.
Lucy Eaton Theatre Entrepreneur, Lucy Eaton (OD 2001)
Representing small business, Lucy Eaton is a Professional actress and co-founder of Go People theatre company which offers Private Theatre: a service that brings intimate productions into the comfort of a host’s own home, as after-dinner entertainment.

All members of the Dragon community including ODs, past and current parents and former staff are welcome, especially those who are (or hope to be) entrepreneurs.
NEWS! 16-18 year olds are welcome to attend this event, providing they are accompanied by a parent. All under-25s will need to bring some form of ID with them please.
