Progress and attainment are regularly assessed by thorough marking and feedback. In addition, for Years 5, 6 and 7, there are twice-termly assessments which take the form of either an essay or source analysis. These two forms of assessment are alternated so that each child’s ability in the two key skills in history are fully tracked. Year 8 have a school exam in November and their ‘mock’ Common Entrance in February. In addition, Years 5, 6 and 7 complete an independent project during one half-term of each year.
