The Heads of Year

The Heads of Year co-ordinate the team of tutors for their year group. They are also responsible for the well-being of the pupils in their year and for promoting a positive year group identity. They also see children individually from their year who have achieved three "pluses" or any other notable success in order to praise them personally. If necessary, they also see any children who have collected three "minuses" from staff or have made others unhappy in some way. They may decide to give a child a task detention which involves reparation by way of helping around the school after 4.15pm (parents would be informed if this were to happen), or they may choose to get a group of children together to try to unravel what has made someone unhappy.
