he Mitchell Siebert family has spent the past six years

moving between Toronto, Canada, the mountains of

central Mexico and rural France. Having experienced

many schools around the world and wanting to establish roots

for son Gavin, Eric and Sarah chose the Dragon, Oxford for

his prep school.

“Family members told us of the Dragon and reviews we read

online and in The Good Schools Guide heightened our

interest. Friends whose children had attended the School

gave us an encouraging push,”

explains Eric.

“Our impressions of the School, from website perusals to

formal visits, were entirely positive and led us to believe

Gavin would be very happy at the Dragon. Of the schools

we considered, it seemed best equipped to stretch, support

and excite our son and, of course, the attractive campus and

up-to-date facilities were a huge plus.”

Alice would spread her wings, roar and breathe

fire. She was a Dragon already

Ryo Katsuki and Sandrine Lacorie, parents of Alice Katsuki-

Lacorie, agree:

“The Dragon offers a balance of academics,

the arts and options to explore and pursue a wide range of

interests; ultimately, it was the excellent music programme

which, to us, made the Dragon exceptional.”

New Parent Experience:

Joining a new school is a daunting prospect for children; spare a thought too for the parents.

They have to learn about the culture of the School, build relationships with other parents

and get to know staff. We asked four sets of parents how they found the experience of joining

the Dragon and how their children have settled in.
