Development at the Dragon School
Development focuses on raising funds to support the long term strategy of the Dragon School.
The Dragon School continues to develop happy, independent, confident and articulate children. Children’s needs are at the heart of the Dragon; discipline relies on common sense, kindness and individual responsibility. The joy of learning and the fun of childhood exploration are shared within an affectionate and nurturing school community. The 2014 Independent Schools Inspectorate inspection identified that the school was excellent in all areas and the quality of pupils’ achievements and learning was deemed exceptional.
With ever increasing costs, and in order to keep the school community vibrant, diverse and open to pupils from less advantaged backgrounds, we continue to build our bursary funds. Currently 25 bursary pupils attend the school, and to sustain or increase this number we need your help. Donating to a bursary fund supports a child who would flourish in the Dragon but may not have the opportunity for financial reasons. To find out more about how we select and support bursary pupils please click here or click Support Us if you wish to donate to the bursaries appeal.
The Music School
The Dragon’s lead capital project is a new Music School to meet the pupils current and future needs. With 87% of pupils actively engaged in music making – playing an instrument, singing in a choir or playing in an ensemble – an inspiring and functional building will be built at the heart of the school. The new facility will increase teaching and learning time, enrich the learning experience, motivate staff and pupils and support excellence and broad musical participation. Leaving a legacy to the Dragon helps the school plan for the future. We recognise our legators by inviting them to join the Skipper Society. For further details of legacies please click here.
