It has been wonderful to see so many young Dragons in the spotlight for our end of term celebrations. From Christmas carols to pantomimes and hard-hitting drama there really has been something for everyone and we would encourage Dragon families to view some of the recordings on the portal.
Reception staged a wonderful Nativity and parents really enjoyed watching their children in this Christmas rite of passage. We can all remember being chosen as a star or a shepherd and it was wonderful to see more special memories being created.
The C Block pantomimes were a new addition to the Dragon festive season and the children had lots of fun as well as learning about comic timing and developing their confidence.
The Upper School play was Blood Brothers and the Dragons gave an incredibly mature and powerful performance. Charlie Ponder, the Dragon’s new Head of Drama was delighted with the result: ‘The play deals with themes of class, inequality and nature vs. nurture and is as relevant today as it was 40 years ago. I have been hugely impressed with the cast who have produced this play in a matter of 10 weeks: a quite remarkable feat.’
Dragon musicians of all ages have enjoyed performing together. The Middle, Upper School and Year 1 concerts featured a wide variety of instruments and ensembles and the calibre was really impressive. A traditional carol concert in the beautiful setting of St. Andrew’s Church and the band playing at the Dragon Sale provided a wonderful end to term.
