Admissions Process
-
Our lists do get to be very long and parents are often put off by this. In fact, at the main points of entry (see links below), more often than not, those who persist do get places in the end.
-
All our lists are specific in terms of Status (day or boarding) and Year. We are, however, happy to register children on a number of different lists. You can always ask to be added to other lists at a later date, but please note that there is no automatic moving of children to future lists if they do not take up a place in the year(s) for which they were first registered.
-
At any given time we are only actively working on the next academic year. For all subsequent years the lists are static - that is to say no promotions from the waiting lists are made.
-
We write to everyone about a year before the time of entry. It is vital that we have been informed of any changes of address since registration, or you may miss a deadline and forfeit your place.
-
It is normal for there to be a considerable reduction to both the definite and waiting lists at this point. Thus the majority of those on the waiting list do get offers in due course.
-
Last-Minute Places. It is common for there to be vacancies that occur late in the day, due either to people's plans changing, or because children within the school are leaving (especially day pupils). Please feel free to ring the Admissions Office with any enquiries.
-
We are always happy to answer questions or discuss your plans either over the phone or in person. When coming to visit the school, there will be a chance to discuss these matters with the Registrar.
-
For further information regarding the points of entry, please follow the links below. Please note that we can only offer definite places for Reception/Year 3 & Year 4 boarders, and this is on a "first come, first served" basis. All other places are subject to availability at the time, and thus will usually require children being put on waiting lists.
