Code of Conduct

Every child at the Dragon is taught to respect each other and all those around them, treating others as they would like to be treated:

  • Listen carefully
  • Take turns
  • Arrive at lessons on time. Be quiet and follow instructions.
  • Be kind to others
  • Be polite
  • Be silent when required to be
  • Look after our school
  • Take pride in your appearance and in the school's reputation
  • Be punctual
  • Work hard and 'reach for the sun'!

Good behaviour is expected from all and is encouraged in many ways throughout the school. Work or behaviour of a high standard may be recorded as a "plus" in the pupil's Term Book. When a child has three "pluses" they report to their Head of Year for a pat on the back. After 5 pluses, they visit the Headmaster to collect a "Headmaster's Commendation" which is also announced in Assembly. If a child collects two Headmaster's Commendations, then a letter of congratulations goes home to their parents from the Headmaster. Unacceptable behaviour will be investigated before action is determined. Persistent poor behaviour will be logged as a "minus". The pupil's Tutor/Houseparent will be informed. If a pupil collects three "minuses" then s/he reports to the Head of Year who may impose a Tasks Detention.
