Beekeeping

BeekeepersSince the end of last term, the bees have been installed in two hives in our newly constructed and very smart beekeeping area. The bees have steadily been growing in number as the weather has improved and, provided the warm climate continues, we should start to see some honey production early in May. Our new beekeepers have been learning about the different parts of the hive and looking closely at the bees and their activity within the hive. Over the next few weeks they will learn to handle the frames and help to put together and paint the new hives they built last term. The hope is that we can get those full of busy bees this season as well.
