Eco Visit to Stonesfield Primary School

Year 4 visit Stonesfield Primary SchoolAs a follow up to our Eco Conference earlier this term, six pupils from Year 4 visited Stonesfield Primary School, near Woodstock . The visit was organised so that Dragon pupils could see what their peers at Stonesfield were doing to help the planet and learn about environmental issues, and for the Dragon to share a few of their Eco experiences. The visitors joined a Year 4 class who are studying rainforests. The class had to work as small groups to produce a persuasive letter to discuss why saving paper was important and to relate this to the wider issue of deforestation and rainforest habitat.

Dragons then joined the Stonesfield Eco Council for their weekly meeting. Chaired by Headteacher, Susie Bagnall, the Eco Council discussed why they joined the council, ongoing classroom initiatives to save energy and the forthcoming ‘Big Tidy Up’ event in school and in the local community.

Our Year 4 representatives returned with ideas to share with their year group and have already thought of one or two to implement in the New Year!
We look forward to some pupils from Stonesfield coming to the Dragon to see us later this academic year.
