Lindsey read Music at New College, Oxford University and, during her undergraduate career as an instrumental scholar, led both the Oxford University Orchestra and Oxford University Philharmonia Orchestra as Principal Violinist for two years. She became very closely involved with New College Choir – tutoring the choristers and taking on pastoral responsibilities for international tours.
After graduating with a BA Honours degree in 2000, she took up a post at the Dragon School as Head of Strings. In her early years at the Dragon she was also able to draw on her experience as Cox of New College 1st Eight when she helped to coach sculling. After a year as the assistant, she was the Housemistress of Cherwell House (senior girls boarding) from 2003-2013 and is now Housemistress of the new Day Boarding House at No. 14, Bardwell Road. After 8 years as Head of Strings she converted to teaching curriculum music, was awarded a PGCE in 2010 from Buckingham University and was Head of Academic Music from 2011-14. In 2013 she took up the post of Head of Year 7 and Safeguarding Officer for Upper School, and is currently Head of Year 8.
