“Pupils are offered boarding experiences within warm and homely environments which are supportive, nurturing and inclusive. Pupils needs are at the heart of the school and all pupils have a very strong voice within the school. They are encouraged to participate in every aspect of school life and clearly feel at home within the school community. The Dragon has a long tradition of boarding. The boarding community is at the very heart of this thriving, co-educational school. More than a third of our preparatory pupils are boarders and all our houseparents, boarding and other teaching staff contribute hugely to its success. The School prides itself on creating a family atmosphere where the children feel happy and safe. Boarders comprise about 250 of the children from Years 4 through to 8 at the Dragon. We have children who board from local, national and international backgrounds. About 16% of our boarders are from British families living abroad and 4% are foreign nationals from a wide range of countries. “The promotion of equality and diversity is outstanding.
