Sports ToursTouring is part of a Dragon's make-up. The school has toured various places in recent years, home and abroad, and there is often more to a sports tour than just playing matches. Trips to Brazil, Sri Lanka and South Africa have all been undertaken in the last six years. Cricket, football, rugby and hockey have all been played at these destinations, giving rise to exciting developments in the school's charitable work. Slightly closer to home, the girls played netball in Malta during 2007. A year later, thirty tennis players and athletes headed to Mallorca for some Easter pre-season training, a trip that has become an annual event. In August and September 2010, the girls 1st XI hockey squad spread the Dragon name in Holland while, simultaneously, the boys 1st XV rugby squad were in the south of France. Dragon teams also seek to remain more local and have, for instance, benefited from early season experience in Norfolk and Edinburgh. This year's 1st XV squad are travelling to the Lake District for some pre-season training. |
