Dragon Sculling Successes

Anastasia Chitty (OD 2007) and Emma Cadoux-Hudson (OD 2007) took the bull by the horns in the Summer of 2007 and at the ages of 13 and 12 respectively entered the Womens Junior 14 Double Scull event. They won their heat outright and came 5th in the final. They were the only single school crew to get that far as all other boats were club boats. Since then Anastasia has raced in a Womens Junior 18 Coxless Quad event at the Fours Head for Canford and Emma along with Nicola Mason (OD 2007) won the Bedford Head in a Womens Junior 14 Double Scull event having only had an outing or two beforehand.

Frances Houghton (OD 1993) won an Olympic silver medal in 2004 and 2008 and has been World Champion in the quad for the past three seasons (2005-2007). In 2007 she medalled at each of the World Cups and won the overall quad title for the series. She raced in the quad in the 2008 World Cup series, finishing 1st and 3rd.
