A Clear Blue Sky

On the August Bank Holiday weekend in 1979, fourteen-year-old Timothy Knatchbull went out on a boat trip off the coast of County Sligo, Ireland. It was a trip that would cost four lives — and change his own for ever.

Timothy and his identical twin Nicholas were two of five brothers who attended the Dragon School  between 1956 and 1978.  Nicholas was tragically killed alongside his grandfather, Lord Mountbatten, his grandmother and a family friend.

The Nicholas Knatchbull Memorial Bursaries were set up to give children whose families could not otherwise afford it the chance of a Dragon School education. A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of this book through the Dragon School will be donated to the fund.
