As half-term fell on the Sunday before Armistice Day, the traditional Dragon School Remembrance Service could not take place this year. Instead, on Wednesday 11th November, the whole school, parents and invited OD guests remembered those who gave their lives in conflict at a Service of Remembrance by the cross in the grounds of the School.
The School band played and the choir led the singing of hymns. Wreaths were laid by Major Elmhirst, a father of three children currently at the School, by Lt. Commander Stewart Hett, an OD who was at the Dragon during the war, and by Tom van Oss and Hope Davies, the two youngest current Dragons.
After the service the ODs were given tours of the school by the children, followed by lunch with the Headmaster.
