From a Clear Blue Sky by Timothy Knatchbull

The Lynam Hall was pleasantly full to hear Tim Knatchbull (OD 1978) speak about his book From A Clear Blue Sky. It was a very special evening as we were taken on the journey Tim has been on since, on a beautiful summer’s day, his grandfather’s small fishing boat was blown to smithereens off the west coast of Ireland. It was not until 2003 when Tim returned to Ireland for the first time since the bomb and faced both the location and the people involved, that he began to find peace within himself.  By then he had recovered from his horrific injuries, come to terms with the death of his twin brother, been through therapy, married and become a father.

The readings from his book interspersed with his own commentary made us all feel a part of this remarkable story, and one which will remain with us far into the future.

The sense of being part of the Dragon family was a theme that came up regularly at the book signing after the talk. Tim gave time to talk to all those who requested signed copies of his book, some of whom discussed their own tragedies.

The Dragon has pleasure in offering for sale Timothy Knatchbull's book From a Clear Blue Sky.

The Nicholas Knatchbull Memorial Bursaries were set up to give children whose families could not otherwise afford it the chance of a Dragon School education. Dragon School Trading Limited (a wholly owned trading subsidiary of the Dragon School) intends to give a donation to the School for the Nicholas Knatchbull Memorial Bursaries of some £6 per copy sold.
