The Dragon School has a rich history of financial support from Old Dragons, parents, and friends, and this generosity has helped the School achieve - and maintain - its reputation for excellence. To retain our position among the finest preparatory schools in the world, we must continue to support and enhance the people, programmes, and facilities that make a difference. The School raises money for three key purposes: The Annual Giving Programme, which benefits current pupils in the School in four main ways: supplemental grants for bursary recipients; music grants for individual instrumental lessons; travel grants for School trips such as the Geography field trip to the Cevennes; extraordinary items for sport, drama, and fine art. Money raised each year for the Annual Giving Programme is used within the following year. Bursaries, which provide essential support for children who would not otherwise have access to an education at the Dragon. The bursaries scheme ensures that the School maintains the breadth of background of its pupils and the educational experience of every child in the School is greatly enhanced. Capital and endowment projects, which are prioritised by the School's Headmaster and Governors and include new buildings and the redesign of existing facilities. The support of Old Dragons, parents and friends is very important to the School. Your gifts provide the means for the School to continue to grow and develop as an institution. Old Dragons - those who know the Dragon best and have benefited most from its education and opportunities - are asked to contribute to the School, at whatever level they can afford, on a regular basis. Many people who are not Old Dragons themselves wish to support the School as they recognise that it is an institution with an outstanding reputation; we are delighted to have their help too. Your contribution will play a role in ensuring that the School's traditions of academic excellence, tolerance, and breadth will continue for generations of pupils to come.
