Day Boarding at the Dragon is at No.

14 Bardwell Road – a North Oxford

family home - for girls and boys in

E, D and C Block who wish to board

for between one and four nights each

week. We are happy to offer trial

nights, and some children find that

one night per week for a term helps

the transition into consecutive nights.

Our Houseparents and resident

Matron all live in the Boarding House

and are at hand to care for Day

Boarders after school from 4:15pm.

Boarders are accommodated in

comfortable bedrooms, with boys on

the top floor and girls on the first

floor. The communal area, with space

to relax and play after school, is on the

ground floor. There is also a spacious

and secure garden in which to play

after tea.

No. 14 Bardwell is run by Rupert

and Lucy Blencowe. They are also

Heads of Boarding at the school.

They have run both Stradlings

and School House, so are no

strangers to boarding life.

They have three children; two girls,

Alice and Imogen, who have now left

home, and Will, who is about to start

at university.

As a family they regularly holiday in

Devon, enjoying the great outdoors.
